Registration closed

Do you believe this number? 212 ambitious cyclists have registered for our Global Biking Initiative 2009! And because we have limited capacity in the plane and in Airolo for accommodation we closed as planned early March the registration process. People can still register for one single day but have to organise their travelling and accommodation on their own. Or they ask for a position on our waiting list - if a registered rider decides not to participate this seat could be yours ;-) In both cases, please contact gbi-support@vodafone.com

Many thanks to Dirk Rheydt who will book the flights, trains and bus very soon to get the best prices! He has spent a hell of a lot time negotiating best prices and discounts with various carriers and Deutsche Bahn and when we will be sitting on the 11th June in a plane full of cyclists please consider that Dirk has also founded the Vodafone D2 company-facilitated cyclist group. Just in the unlikely case of that you would like to continue cycling with colleagues after you returned to Düsseldorf ;-)

And do you know who spent hours and hours trying to find the best way and route from Milan to Düsseldorf? Who worked out all the tracks which are also online available? Many thanks to Hartmut Genz! It's quite likely that we will see him on his recumbent bike ;-)

100+ Registrations

We passed an important milestone - on our way to 200 participants.... By today 100 restless people have registered for our charity ride and at the time I am writing this another 2 have just joined us! What a great success and we are looking forward to complete the second 100 as well within the next few weeks.

Do you already know our brownie behind the scenes? The guy who answers all your questions and comments and comes back to you within a blink when you send an e-mail to gbi-support@vodafone.com? He also translated our FAQs into twenty different languages.. or are there hundreds? Do you need a Chinese version? He got it! Great opportunity here to say thank you to Uli Böhm, aka Ueli, aka ullli, aka..... He even speaks Swiss German.. just in case ;-)

We got our design

Hufi did it! We got our design and we just ordered 60 posters in the format A1 and we will wallpaper every single Vodafone location in Germany! Our OpCo Champions will print them as well and within an couple of days our great initiative will also be visible in Hungary, Egypt, Greece, the Netherlands, Italy and the UK.

Many thanks to Michael Hufelschulte who designed our logo and the poster, included our charity ride into the VF D2 Internal Communication program and put all this together.

We are accessible via Internet and VF Intranet where riders can register for the event and browse through the online shop to be best prepared for the challenge and most important: were donators can spend their funds. Many thanks to José Kereit to make this happen!
